It's in remarkably great condition and has very low mileage considering it's 19 yearrs old! Then there's that 60+ miles per gallon that it's been averaging...........we all know the price of gas isn't going to go down but rather up! It has 4 nearly new Bridgestone tires (NOT some of those 4/$100 auto parts store "specials") just as a sample of how well this one has been maintained. This one has two problems: #1 The IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) battery is deteriorating and is at only 20% effidiency. A Honda remanufactured one (they don't make new ones any more) from our shop is about $2,223.24 plus $150 shipping and about $350 labor plus tax installed. We only do Honda parts with a factory warranty (just in case) but you can find these IMA batteries on the internet in "aftermarket" remanufactured condition with a warranty for $900 to $1,100. #2 There's a leak in the evaporative emissions cannister and it needs to be replaced. Retail for the part is $278.43 and the adjoining valve is $79.18. This, plus $178 labor to install (plus tax!) in our shop. Our tech noted some other things such as a cabin air filter and oil change, just "normal" stuff. This is a very nice, well maintained car. It has to be one of the lowest mile Insights existing today. * Comes with original manuals and sticker price. * 60 mpg city and 66 Hwy. * The car drives as it should and has given me no issues. * The hybrid battery was replaced on 11/08/2018 and is the premium 8.0 ah version rather than the stock 6.5 ah version. It is brand new, not rebuilt and has a 3yr. warranty. * The drive home yesterday was 18.5 miles and the car got 62.8 mpg. That is higher than I ever achieved on the old battery by 10%. * The car runs, drives, shifts and looks fantastic! I have nothing to hide here. * The interior is very clean with little or no wear on upholstery. * Factory floor mats are still nice and also clean. * Oil Change is up to date and tires are all good. * Paint has a few minor scratches from use and alloy wheels have some curbing on them. * The car also has climate control (AC) * 2 original Honda key fob/remotes and keys. * The Carfax is clean (Run one and check it out. VIN provided in ad.) * I have a clean Oregon title in my name. * Do not hesitate on this car. It is beautiful and runs/drives great. 2001 Honda Insight. This car has a 67hp gas motor and a 6hp electric motor. It has a 5 speed manual transmission and it runs and shifts great. Cold thermostatically controlled A/C. I routinely get 55 mpg in my very hilly area without using the old hybrid battery. Car has a switch to bypass the hybrid system, this car needs new a hybrid battery, IMA light has recently come on. Car runs fine without the hybrid battery system. Has a new 12v battery, new Kenwood speakers. The clear coat is peeling and some bumper scrapes, but no dents. Good tires. New seat covers, new wiper blades, new cabin air filter. Cassette player works, and I will throw in the adapter for you to plug in your mp3 player. Has a good spare tire and complete tire change set, comes with owners manual. The car has 158415 miles and will get more as it is my daily driver. Car comes with a new jug of Mobil1 and a Mobil1 oil filter. Car has all 5 underbody panels. PAYPAL FOR DEPOSIT, CASH ONLY FOR PAYMENT WHEN PICKED UP. You are viewing a 2000 Honda Insight Hybrid in excellent condition inside and out with very low miles - most of these are well over the 200k mile mark at this point in their lives.I've owned this Insight for about a year and its been completely trouble free. I did perform some needed maintenance as listed below but mechanically I've had zero issues with this Insight.I cannot offer any perspective on the lifetime MPG as I've only owned the car for a year and did not know the previous owner.I will, however, offer my perspective. I live in SC and travel approx 25 miles on I-85 to work. The entire route is rolling hills with about 5-15 mins (varies) of stop and go at the end of my commute. I consistently get 50-60mpg on this commute. I've seen as high as 67mpg from work to home. Auto-off function works as expected in stop and go. Previous owner installed an Alpine CD Player with satellite and BT modules along with replacement door speakers, small sub and Alpine amp to power the doors and sub.I have never experienced the second gear grinding typically associated with the manual. The car runs perfectly. The interior is near mint. Seats are clean, no tears etc.AC and Heat work very well.Power locks and windows work as expected except for the UP control for the passenger window on the left side of the dash. Down works and up/down work on the passenger door just fine.
